Qaid Jivan is passionate about entrepreneurship, project leadership, and community-building. During his undergrad, he combined those passions by rolling out programs for the local PMI chapter with the intention of driving better engagement with universities. His first role was as a BA supporting a PMO standup for a large IT/Healthcare portfolio for PHSA.
After completing his undergrad at SFU with a directed study on how to improve recruitment in project delivery environments, he joined the Clinical and Systems Transformation with VCH as a Sr. Project Analyst, again in a PMO standup environment. Simultaneously, he was appointed to the board of directors with the local chapter as their VP Membership, where he focuses on growing PMI’s impact to the broader project community, an approach which is contributing to unprecedented growth numbers over the past year, with 8% growth in 2016 and 6% growth in the first quarter of 2017.
Building from his directed study at SFU, his new challenge is TalentMarketplace.ca: a tool which seeks to shake up recruitment in project management by enabling businesses to connect with and hire pre-screened project managers, analysts, and coordinators with greater efficiency.
